2022-02-19 Saturday Trucker Peaceful Support Rally

Markham and Lawrence 1pm -2pm core hours

Arrests are apparently underway in Ottawa at the moment. The truckers need our support more than ever.

It’s also important to demonstrate and organize locally so we can more effectively lobby our local Scarborough politicians. I will be at Markham and Lawrence 1pm -2pm. You are welcome to come earlier and/or stay longer. If you can’t see us from the corner at Markham and Lawrence, then please check the parking lot in front of Healthy Planet.

Please bring a sign, flag, empty gas cans, flyers etc. if you have them. Please dress warmly especially hands, feet, and head. It helps to have your sign on a string around your neck so you don’t have to hold it. Healthy Planet is usually welcoming if you need to warm up. I personally wear a mask when I go in so as not to put them on the spot with respect to enforcement.

Please stand up and get involved. We cannot expect the Truckers to carry the entire load for us. If you are aware of other protests in Scarborough, I’d be glad to publicize them. Above all, let’s keep it peaceful and playful. This is the way to bring public opinion over to our side and this is the kind of society I would like to live in.
