There is a public Board Meeting for Toronto Public Health this Monday the 21st of March http://app.toronto.ca/tmmis/decisionBodyProfile.do?function=doPrepare&meetingId=21592
I glanced at the background materials and I don’t immediately see any reference to what I would consider the most basic Public Health measures like ensuring adequate Vitamin D levels, monitoring all cause mortality and morbidity including vaccine related. There is no update on any investigation into Sean Hartman’s death shortly after vaccination. Even at a quick glance it’s obvious that the lack of a basic definition of public health and the lack of basic measurements of public health means that TPH is struggling to figure out what to do next and how to deal with all the complex tradeoffs public health involves.
If you live in Scarborough Guildwood, our councillor, Paul Ainslie sits on the Board. If you are available during business hours, this is one of your few residual democratic opportunities to actually talk to your councillor. Open the specific agenda item that interests you then click on the request to speak button at the top.
To get an idea of what speaking for 5 minutes involves check out https://f2sg.substack.com/p/2022-01-17-speech-to-toronto-board I actually skipped over some of the material and got the hook at the end like just about every other speaker. Toronto Committes have discretion to reduce time for each speaker, typically to 3 minutes, if there are a lot of speakers.
If you want to speak but are unsure about any aspect of the process please feel free to contact me at gknittl@sympatico.ca I have posted the materials for the January meeting here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1DwRhlDR2OtwDzABTjuDLXBFaa11cMrwg?usp=sharing Politics is a numbers game. And the basic issues of what Public Health actually means are extremely political. The more constituents Councillor Ainslie hears on the call, the more he will pay attention. If you would like to release a few bullet points of what you intend to cover in advance of the meeting, I’d be glad to start an article on this substack and publish them to help people get connected before the meeting.
