If you are wondering why we still need to demonstrate and lobby our politicians just look at the Toronto Board of Health meeting this Monday. I tried to speak out against the censoring of Dan Hartman’s plea on January 17th for help with investigating the cause of death of his son, Sean, shortly after the COVID-19 vaccination only to be told it was redacted because of a privacy complaint. But the Board didn’t specify who complained about what. What exactly is redacted? Is it Sean’s identity? Is it the details around his death? It effectively blocks all discussion of Sean’s death. It’s impossible to assess how valid the complaint is. This is an example of the cancer of censorship that is eating our society. Also it looks to me the Board is still in a largely evidence-free bubble with regards to all aspects of COVID-19 and I’m beginning to wonder how much evidence they have for their other activities.
We have a provincial election coming June 2nd and Toronto municipal elections October 24th. It’s important to demonstrate and organize locally so we can more effectively lobby our local Scarborough politicians. I will be at Markham and Lawrence this Saturday from 1pm -2pm. If nobody else is there by 1:30pm, I will shop at Healthy Planet and then head home. You are welcome to come earlier and/or stay longer but best to let me know in advance. If you can’t see us from the corner at Markham and Lawrence, then check the parking lot in front of Healthy Planet.
Please bring a sign, flag, empty gas cans, flyers etc. if you have them. Please dress warmly especially hands, feet, and head - expect rain. It helps to have your sign on a string around your neck so you don’t have to hold it. Healthy Planet is usually welcoming if you need to warm up.
