UofT is enforcing vaccine mandates for residences at Scarborough Campus. Mayor Tory and Councillor Ainslie are both back with their dismal approach to public health.
If you can’t see us from the corner at Markham and Lawrence, then check the parking lot in front of Healthy Planet! Or inside Healthy Planet if it rains.

Backyard Hens in Toronto (freedom to grow food)
from Toronto Urban Growers:
The Urban HensTO pilot project is coming back to the Economic and Community Development Committee next Wednesday, January 11.
At this meeting, it looks like the final vote on the pilot will be deferred to April, 2023:
As a result of the Economic and Community Development Committee meeting schedule and to provide reasonable time to consult with additional stakeholders and draft a follow-up report, staff intend to bring the follow-up report requested by Council to the April 25 Economic and Community Development Committee meeting. Given the current pilot program expires on March 31, 2023, it is recommended that the pilot be formally extended until May 31, 2023 to provide clarity to current participants and Toronto Animal Services (TAS) staff.

This may still be a good moment to write to your councillor to speak in favour of hens, particularly if your councillor is on the committee. Scarborough-Guildwood councillor Paul Ainslie is on the committee.
