Tamara Lich and Chris Barber trial continues; Croatia and Estonia act against WHO Pandemic Treaty
Friday was Day 32 of the Lich/Barber trial. As best I understand the defense continues to pursue a directed verdict on the Crown’s Carter application that asserts that Lich Barber were engaged in an illegal conspiracy. I.e. to have the application rejected immediately without the need for the defense to introduce any evidence of their own. I’m not a lawyer but this seems to be a very careful legal manoeuvre to force the judge to start tipping her hand. If the defense wins, the case against Tamara Lich pretty much evaporates and the case against Barber is not much better off. I think it would humiliate the Crown. If the defense loses, I believe they can still introduce evidence and arguments against the Carter application and they can tailor their arguments to whatever reasons the judge gives. Slovakia will not be entering into any international pandemic agreements with WHO, Prime Minister Robert Fico says.
Some members of Estonia’s parliament have sent a letter to the WHO rejecting the Pandemic Treaty and new International Health regulations. The process is so convoluted it’s not clear to me if this has any legal effect, but it’s more than we’ve done so far here in Canada.
