Freedom of Information; Randy Hillier
Ontario has some nominally quite powerful Freedom of Information legislation, the Municipal Freedom of Information and Privacy Protection Act (MFIPPA) as well as the Freedom of Information and Privacy Protection Act (FIPPA). The Information and Privacy Commission of Ontario runs the tribunals that administer these acts. The IPC has recently proposed a new draft code of procedure for these tribunals which in my opinion further tilts the playing field in favour of the institutions at the expense of the appellants (generally people opening FOI requests). My draft comments:
If you have opened and especially if you have appealed any Freedom of Information Requests or know anybody that uses the IPC appeals process please let them know about the consultation. Comments are due by December 21st.
Former MPP Randy Hillier’s latest update on the charges against him.

Please bring a freedom related sign, flag, flyers etc. if you have them. I have a now autographed copy of Tamara Lich’s book “Hold the Line” to lend out.
If you can’t see us from the corner at Markham and Lawrence, then check the parking lot in front of Healthy Planet or inside Healthy Planet if it rains.

Presumably there is a noon rally at Queen’s Park north side this weekend.
