Emergencies Act Judicial Review
On Tuesday there was a big ruling against the invocation of the Emergencies Act that has gotten attention all over the world. Same day reaction from Ezra Levant of RebelNews with interesting comments from Keith Wilson (convoy lawyer) and Lawrence Greenspon (lawyer for Tamara Lich). More in depth reaction from the Canadian Constitutional Foundation (CCF) that really drives home how completely Justice Mosley ruled against the government. Unfortunately the government has indicated they want to appeal and keep the issue up in the air for another few years. The Supreme Court is still struggling to correctly oversee judicial reviews in my opinion, so it’s entirely possible they will find some legal issue where they think they are more clever than Justice Mosley and change some or all of his ruling. The CCF has started a petition to ask the government not to appeal.
