The Canadian Covid Care Alliance (CCCA) has released an analysis of OHIP billing claims from 2015 to 2022 titled Concerning Trends in Reproductive Health in Ontario. What I find most concerning is that the CCCA had to do this. I may have missed it, but I find no such analysis from Public Health Ontario under COVID-19 Data and Surveillance or Reproductive and Child Health Data. Ontario Public Health should either do or fund the further analysis which is clearly required, such as studying reproductive health in relation to the COVID-19 vaccines.
The Conservatives are now apparently filibustering study of Bill S-210 An Act to restrict young persons’ online access to sexually explicit material. The Bill currently explicitly allows for blocking access to lawful content to those over the age of 18, in the name of protecting children. For example the HighWire often includes segments on gender identity issues e.g. https://thehighwire.com/ark-videos/detransitioning-lukas-story/ Host Del Bigtree will often advise parents that might be watching with their children that there is sexually explicit material coming up. The HighWire is a non-profit but they don’t work for free and they are always soliciting donations. I see no definition of commercial in the act. Would the Highwire count as a commercial operation? How much costly litigation could the as yet unidentified enforcement bureaucrats put the HighWire through to clarify if the Highwire has to set up age verification for Canada or be blocked in Canada?
The filibuster means the bill may come out of committee for a final vote in the House of Commons without any amendments at all. Usually the government is trying to legislate away our freedoms. Now the roles are reversed and the opposition parties led by the Conservatives are apparently supporting censorship and the (minority) government is opposing it. Heaven help Canada. How about first protecting young people from gender predation by schools, doctors, pharmaceutical companies etc?
Rally at Markham and Lawrence this Saturday from 11:00am - 12 noon
