Recent RFK statements; Scarborough-Guildwood-Rouge Park PC Candidate
RFK (Robert F. Kennedy) Secretary of US Health and Human Services gave his first network interview to CBS on April 9th. It’s a wide ranging interview but Kennedy’s statement at approx 6:30 that measles vaccines are the most effective way to limit the spread has caused some controversy in the MAHA movement. I’m not sure I can completely reconcile this with
6:13 “we are always going to have measles because the vaccine wanes very quickly”
7:50 “we need good science on all vaccines”
Kennedy is usually evidence driven, so where is the evidence that the measles vaccines don’t lead to asymptomatic transmission for example? It feels like a statement made under political duress.
However, overall Kennedy is making many positive moves such as
trying to get additives out of foods
trying to tighten up the Generally Recognized as Safe standard
affirming the right to decline vaccines
supporting treatment for those that do decline vaccines
at least advocating for more studies of vaccine safety
advocating to remove fluoride from drinking water
that would have been unthinkable under the previous administration. Similar reaction here.
I ran into Scarborough-Guildwood-Rouge Park PC Candidate Suchita Jalan putting up signs on Livingston on the way home from our Thursday rally. I asked her a few questions without identifying myself as a blogger. She is not aware of any all candidates meetings. She basically deferred to Pierre Poilievre on policy - saying essentially he's my leader and my position is whatever he has said. She did say that personally she was against vaccine mandates and personally thought Health Canada didn't do sufficient due diligence before approving the COVID-19 vaccines.
Rally at Markham and Lawrence this Saturday from 11:00am - 12 noon
Please bring a freedom related sign, flag, flyers etc. if you have them.
I will be at or near Markham and Lawrence, ending up directly outside Healthy Planet.
Friend of the channel, baker Chris Dryburgh will be at the Springtime Bakers & Makers Marketplace at Guild Park 10am to 1pm
