As far as I know Canada's border's remain open in general. Given that we now have a massive wave of Omicron in Canada, I find it hard to believe that one small port of entry would be of any epidemiologic significance. All travel restrictions and lockdowns have so far failed to stop the spread of COVID-19 and have costs that would appear to me to outweigh the benefits, especially since Omicron is relatively mild. I think the real issue is Quebec and the rest of Canada harshening their tone against the unvaccinated. I'm concerned that this article is trying to pit residents against immigrants by claiming immigrants are spreading COVID-19 in the same way that the government is trying to pit vaccinated against unvaccinated by pretending the unvaccinated are speading COVID-19. I don't want to become the mirror image of that which I oppose.
If you want to debate immigration on this substack then I'd like to see a substantial connection to our loss of freedoms due to medical tyranny.
