Saturday Jan 15 peaceful protest at Markham and Lawrence 11:30 to 13:00
When: 11:30 to 13:00. In the winter many of us older folks find 1 hour in the cold carrying a sign is sufficient. 11:30 to 13:00 are “core” hours when you can expect at least one other person to be there. But by all means arrive at 12:30 and try to find a buddy to protest with you to 13:30 or beyond.
Where: Markham and Lawrence. We tend to walk around Lawrence and Markham within one traffic light of the intersection in any of the 4 directions, if only to keep warm. If you don't see anyone, stand at the corner of Markham and Lawrence and look for one or more people holding signs in each of the 4 directions. For some reason we usually gravitate to the plaza on the north west side that contains the Healthy Planet.
Parking: there is a huge parking lot at Cedarbrae Mall
Whether vaccine mandates threaten your job, you are concerned about vaccinating children, booster shots, our freedom to choose our medical treatment, Doctors' freedom to treat COVID-19, our Councillor Paul Ainslie's support for Toronto Public Health's exclusive focus on vaccines to treat COVID, our Toronto District School Boards support for vaccine mandates in schools etc, Everyone is welcome to join us.
Please bring a sign. The forecast is for a high of -10C! Dress warmly especially hands, feet, and head and bring a bottle of water. Bring your flyers if you have them.
Please be aware that the lockdown limits outdoor gatherings to 10 people. We almost hit this limit at our Guildwood protest on Thursday. In the event there are more than 10 people there are the four corners of the intersection, the entrance to the Healthy Planet plaza, the parking lot at Cederbrae Mall etc. There is lots of room to productively fan out and reach more people at that intersection…
If you prefer to protest downtown please see https://thelibertyclub.ca/events/2022-01-15/ . If anyone knows of any other protests in Toronto on Saturday feel free to add them in the comments. Trudeau is floating mandatory vaccinations for all. Please stand up and protest where ever you prefer. For those that are available on Monday morning please consider speaking at the Toronto Board of Health monthly meeting
You have to sign up in advance to speak to the Board of Health. Try to do it on Friday!
Please consider stopping by the Healthy Planet to encourage them to consider ways to support our cause such as creating vitamin D coupons for us to hand out at protests. see
