Hat tip to Andrew for pointing out https://brightlightnews.com/canadas-largest-school-board-tdsb-to-vote-on-inequitable-mandatory-vaccination/
https://pub-tdsb.escribemeetings.com/FileStream.ashx?DocumentId=9890
indicates they are actually voting on writing a letter requesting a number of items including Adding COVID-19 to the list of vaccines in the Immunization
of School Pupils Act;
The Immunization of School Pupils Act is a provincial act and the fact the Board is writing a letter leads me to suspect that the Board itself does not have the power to mandate COVID-19 immunization. It’s not clear to me who actually does have this power and consequently exactly where we should direct our lobbying. Please comment below if you understand the legal framework.
Nonetheless, the Toronto District School Board is clearly, in my opinion, running around with their heads cut off in their push for mandatory COVID-19 vaccination.
The brightlinenews article already contains reasons not to mandate this vaccination. Further reasons are available at https://www.canadiancovidcarealliance.org/media-resources/petition-to-halt-covid-19-vaccines-for-children-pregnant-women-young-adults/ Even https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/covid-19-vaccines/advice which I’m reluctant to cite as an authority, questions the need to mass vaccinate children “More evidence is needed on the use of the different COVID-19 vaccines in children to be able to make general recommendations on vaccinating children against COVID-19.”
https://www.tdsb.on.ca/Leadership/Trustees lists https://www.tdsb.on.ca/Ward19 Zakir.Patel@tdsb.on.ca as the Trustee for Scarborough Guildwood, if you would like to write to your representative.
Would anyone like to draft and print out a petition for us to post on f2sg.substack and take to protests?
Would anyone be interested in getting a group together and trying to meet with our trustee?
How else could we lobby on this issue?
I look forward to your comments below.
Update 2022-01-11
According to Araz at the Trustee’s Office there is no local TDSB constituency office for Scarborough Guildwood. Trustees may make informal arrangements to meet locally at restaurants (when they are open), local schools, etc. They are also able to set up conference calls and zoom calls.
Thanks Greg. That's good to know. It's just hard to believe all those trustees voted yay to poisoning (or worse) our kids.
