Emergencies Act lawsuits; Saskatchewan to not remit carbon tax
Following https://f2sg.substack.com/p/2024-01-27-saturday-peaceful-freedom Tamara Lich, Chris Barber and other convoy organizers have sued the government for $2 million for illegally invoking the Emergencies Act. Loberg Ector LLP has also taken similar legal action against the government on behalf of 20 additional plaintifs.
Saskatchewan has decided not to remit the carbon tax on natural gas used for home heating to Ottawa. Saskatchewan Energy minister Duncan appears to acknowledge this is illegal. I’m used to governments at all levels not following the law when it comes to our individual liberties and courts being unable or unwilling to reign them in but it’s a whole new low for the rule of law when governments ignore the law in their dealings with each other. I’m not sure how to enforce freedom without the rule of law.
Rally at Markham and Lawrence this Saturday from 11:00am - 12 noon
Please bring a freedom related sign, flag, flyers etc. if you have them. I have a now autographed copy of Tamara Lich’s book “Hold the Line” to lend out.
If you can’t see us from the corner at Markham and Lawrence, then check the parking lot in front of Healthy Planet or inside if it rains too heavily.
Other rallies on Saturday:
Presumably there is a noon rally at Queen’s Park north side.
