There is a public Board Meeting for Toronto Public Health this Monday the 11th of April http://app.toronto.ca/tmmis/decisionBodyProfile.do?function=doPrepare&meetingId=21593
If you live in Scarborough Guildwood, our councillor, Paul Ainslie sits on the Board. If you are available during business hours, this is one of your few residual democratic opportunities to actually talk to your councillor. Open the specific agenda item that interests you then click on the “request to speak” button at the top.
If you can’t attend in person, you can still submit comments. Open the specific agenda item that interests you then click on the “submit comments” button at the top.
Unfortunately there was a considerable drop off in speakers and submissions for the last meeting in March. The issues with this Board that I have commented on at https://f2sg.substack.com/p/2022-01-17-speech-to-toronto-board

are still there. It’s not clear that Toronto Public Health has learned anything from the COVID-19 pandemic.
There’s a municipal election coming 2022-10-24. If you want a councillor who’s public health acumen goes beyond telling you to “drink water” this is your chance to speak up.
